  3. Hi Dr. McClanahan,
We are the Republican Women of Clifton (Virginia) and we just met yesterday to start a brand new book club. We chose your book and are all very excited at our choice.

We will meet November 4 for our discussion. It is the day after the Virginia election for governor and we will be either very, very excited or will be ready to leave the state.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know that your book is being read here in Northern Virginia and we will let you know what we think.

  5. Hi cousin!

Haven’t read your books yet, but promise I will. Just letting you know that they are being featured on several right wing extremist (Napolitano’s words, not mine) group websites….

BTW, did you know you are probably related to Davy Crockett?

  6. Brian ~ Thank you for your book. Look at this from 12-16 I think you will appreciate this US History lesson:

  8. I thought I was the only McClanahan left with any political or historical sense.I have no degree, just a common knowledge of American history that seems to be fading away in our country.

  9. It seems there are a few of us out there. My father is also Robert McClanahan. Where do you live?

  10. Just finished reading your book. As an “originalist,” I planned to use it in my high school government classes. I have been a public high school teacher for 17 years and have taught American history and government most of that time. I have a MA in History from Central Missouri University and my thesis explored what Truman knew about espionage and spies still in government when he took the helm and how he responded (cover-up). Anyway, I have been attacked by my liberal colleagues for years in the Socialist Studies Department. I was called in by the principal a month ago and once again accused of being a conservative. I have had 17 years of great evaluations so I am not a malcontent or trouble maker. I asked wherein lied the crime? The discussion became heated and he refused to tell me who the other teachers were calling for my head. He promised me that “This is not finished.” Now he has stripped me of all my government courses and they went ahead and took advanced studies history from me as well. I have been sent down to skid row for being a conservative. Your book is awesome and I wish I could have used it in class.

  11. Professor McClanahan, I’d like to talk to you about a speaking engagement. Could you send me a private email?

    Thanks.
